Every Vote Counts

Just a few days ago I sent my absentee ballot away for the U.S. elections, and today I was back at the polls. It was election day here in Ontario. We were voting for the mayor and town council members. It isn't as easy here to find out what every person stands for and what are the most important issues they are going to push for if they get into office. Since Durham is so small there is no news channels running commercials or anything like that. So to be an informed voter I found a web site with a write up on what every person running for office feels are the most important. Since I knew I was going to have a bit of a wait at Toronto General this afternoon I took some time to read through what I printed off the Internet. I don't know if the people I voted for have gotten in but at least I feel I was able to make a informed decision. What a privilege to have citizenship in two countries that give people a right to vote.
