Yesterday Brenda, Brian, and I were able to attend a M.K. Care workshop. We joined in with about 25 other people from 10 different mission organizations to talk about caring for our M.K.'s. It was good to share our ideas and thoughts as well as hear from Michele Phoenix who is an M.K. Advocate. Michele is an M.K. herself, and also served at Black Forest Academy in Germany teaching M.K.'s for over 20 years. It was so good to see the heart of all these mission organizations in their desire to be a support to M.K.'s. However, we do realize the importance of home and supporting churches and the vital role they play in helping adult M.K.'s in adjusting back into North America. What part can you also play in the life of an M.K.'s? How about dropping an M.K. a note, or email, let them know you are thinking and praying for them. For those adult M.K.'s away from home and attending college or university, how about sending them a care package or gift card. Call them up and take them out for coffee. Let them know you are behind them. There are so many adjustments M.K.'s go through as they leave their homes overseas and return to their parents home country to start a life over here. How thankful I am for all of those who loved on our five M.K.'s as they adjusted back to life in North America after leaving their the only home they knew in Venezuela.
