Here is the story of my blender Sega from the past couple of years. Since we have been in North America we have gone through at least five blenders. If you are a true smoothie lover you know how hard it is to get a blender that will stand the test of time. I have even had a smoothie blender and it did not last. In the picture you will see three of the blenders we have owned in the last couple of years. The motor went on the white blender. The blender that is upside down is under a year old and has been replaced once. The motor on that blender was great, nice and powerful. The problem came in when you go to make smoothies and the blender has so much power it actually melts the bottom part which makes the blade actually blend things. So after it breaking twice in a year, it is not worth replacing it again to have the same thing happen. Well, after a bit of research I just bought another blender. Like I said, we do like fruit smoothies. The blender actually has a metal part on bottom so I am HOPING this one will not melt like the past one did. Will this blender stand the test of time? I am doubtful but willing to once again try out yet another blender. If there are any smoothie drinkers out there that have found a blender that works, and that isn't too expensive I would appreciate you passing on the make and the model of a blender that stands up to for true smoothie drinkers.

Blender Dilemma

i just love that you have a whole blog entry on blenders...they are so important i agree, especially when it comes to smoothies. :) i often wonder what kind of blenders they use at booster juice and how often they replace them. i don't have any really great advice as i've had some of the same blender blahs but it's nice to know i'm not alone! :) hope you've enjoyed the week off!
ReplyDeleteIt was hard during Ruth's spring break that we couldn't make any smoothies to share together. It has been a family bonding time over smoothies. So I had to break down and try one yet one more blender.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried a Bosch! I don't have one but from what I've heard... they are known for their motors lasting a long time and are able to carry a load. Anyways if your interested do some research and see if what I heard is true. Ang
