Yes, I am still alive even though I haven't been on my blog lately. This is a very busy month for us with lots going on. One of the things I have been working on the last couple of days with any free time I have, is scanning old pictures into the computer. One of Vern's cousins has been working for over two year on putting together a family history book. This is from Vern's mother's side of the family. There were lots of siblings and thus many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gayle has written to every living relative to get input for this project. Everyone is sending her pictures and writings. Vern never really knew his grandparents as he had not yet been born when his grandmother died and was very young when his grandfather died. Thus he has no memory at all of them. Although, since Vern's mom is the youngest sibling and Vern is the youngest grandchild, many of his aunts and uncles were like grandparents to him. We have never lived close to them but these aunts. uncles, and cousins welcomed me into the family with open arms. It has been fun having a walk down memory lane reliving the memories of these dear relatives, many who are no longer alive.
