Yesterday Zachary and Ruth had a test and then a meeting in the morning. Vern and I ran around to pick up last minute things for the kids. We went out for lunch and then walked around the campus as the kids checked out where all their classes were going to be. I know the next time we are up there it will be cold and snowy. It was so nice to walk around without a jacket on. The pictures of the kids in the bigger classrooms are where they will have some of their bigger classes. On the way home, I made good use of the box of Kleenex the kids got me for Mother's Day. I was saving it just for this big event. As all of you faithful blog readers know we have a red "You are Special Today" plate that we like to use to make people in our family feel special. Well, a couple of months ago I was able to find a red "You Are Special Today" mug. I filled it with some chocolates and was able to find a nice smiley balloon. So I left that with Ruth before we said good-bye. We hope she knows how special she is to us. (Zachary is special to us as well but I opted for a starter set of pots and pans for him. Since Zachary is a practical type of guy. He was needing something to make his Mac and Cheese anyway.) You might wonder why I have a picture of that yellow water tower. Well, we drove past that yellow smiley water tower about three hours after leaving the kids. And since I got Ruth that yellow smiley balloon I felt like God had that water tower be there for me to brighten up my day. Thanks so much to everyone who has been praying for our family through this HUGE adjustment. We greatly appreciate you praying for us. Thanks too for those of you who have written us notes of encouragement. They have meant so much. Please keep praying for us and our children as we continue to adjust to this separation.

awww!!! I am definitely still praying for you both!! I know mom and dad are missing us a lot, so I can imagine your missing Ruth and Zachary a lot too!!! God has always cared for them when they were with you, and now even though they're on their own God is still watching over them and will be with them no matter what they go through!! That has been such an encouragement to me as I get adjusted to living on my own too! What an awesome God we serve!!
ReplyDeleteI think I know that water tower! It was a half way home marker for me when I was a kid as we would travel to Grand Rapids, MI. We'll be praying for you all.
